Mayor Janet Evans has served three terms on Council. Councillor from 1999 to June 2003 and Mayor from 2003 to date.

She is a long time Sooke resident who grew up in Port Renfrew and she graduated from Edward Milne Secondary School in 1972.

She has worked in a variety of administrative positions and has been an active volunteer in her community.
